SubTrack Privacy Policy

Information you enter in the app

SubTrack lets you manually save subscription details such as service names, renewal dates, billing cycles, prices, categories, payment mode, optional cancellation links, and optional custom subscription logos.

This information is stored locally on your device so the app can show your subscriptions, totals, reminders, insights, and PDF spending reports.

Information we collect

Usage measurement also includes onboarding completion or skip, deletion outcomes, coarse results for each imported record, and a numeric count of saved recurring-cost records. Inventory counts do not include record names, identifiers or prices. Firebase receives snapshots; reporting calculations happen in Google's analytics tools.

SubTrack does not upload your saved recurring-cost database, custom categories or custom logos for analytics or cloud sync, and does not sell that content. Separate automatic crash diagnostics and their possible runtime context are described below.

The app does not require account registration and does not ask for bank credentials, card details, or financial account login information.

Usage analytics

We use pseudonymous action events to understand feature usefulness and compare Premium explanations. Google's analytics tools can link events using a Firebase app-instance identifier and event timestamps to produce funnel and cohort reports. This is event-level measurement, not anonymous pre-aggregated reporting; it does not establish a complete purchase or refund history.

With your optional agreement, production builds of SubTrack configured with Google Analytics for Firebase measure whether app features, Premium explanations, and purchase flows work correctly. There is no preselected choice: collection remains off until you choose “Allow analytics”. “Not now” keeps collection disabled without restricting Free or Premium features. You can change or withdraw your choice in Settings → Analytics and diagnostics. Terms acceptance is separate and does not grant analytics permission.

SubTrack records selected meaningful actions rather than every tap or entered value. Custom Premium-funnel fields are limited to a coarse entry point, outcome and assigned message-experiment arm. Custom feature-use fields are limited to an allow-listed feature, action, outcome and coarse failure category. Manual screen views use only fixed, coarse screen names and classes; reminder signals record notification posting and opening without notification content. Optional helpful/not-helpful responses use those same coarse fields. SubTrack does not add service identities, saved subscription IDs, exact amounts, URLs, OCR text or images, form values, notes, custom categories, recommendation details or custom user identifiers to analytics events.

The Firebase SDK and Google infrastructure may also process automatically collected information described by Google, including an app-instance identifier, device and operating-system information, app version, approximate location derived from a masked IP address, session and lifecycle information, and Google Play in-app purchase or subscription events. Those purchase events may include SubTrack Premium's developer-defined product ID, product name, currency, quantity, and price. They do not contain the recurring-cost records you enter into SubTrack. SubTrack disables Advertising ID collection, personalized-advertising signals, and automatic screen reporting, and does not use this analytics data for advertising.

The Firebase SDK queues and transmits events automatically, including after offline use. SubTrack keeps message assignment and limited lifecycle state locally to avoid changing experiment messages or repeating completed actions; it does not calculate analytics cohorts or retention on your device. SubTrack has no account or user-facing analytics deletion request mechanism. Analytics data is subject to the configured Google Analytics retention settings and Google's applicable terms and privacy documentation.

Local storage

Your subscription data and preferences are stored on your device using local app storage. This includes app settings such as currency, custom categories, theme choice, notification preferences, onboarding state, premium entitlement state, and copied custom logo files.

If you uninstall SubTrack, clear app data, replace data through import, delete subscriptions in the app, or remove a custom logo, local data may be removed from your device.

SubTrack allows Android system backup and device transfer. Depending on your device, Google account, operating system version and backup settings, Android may copy app data, including locally stored records and preferences, to a backup service or another device. Local storage does not mean these records can never leave the device. This system-managed backup is separate from SubTrack's optional analytics choice and manual exports.

SubTrack limits eligible system-backup data to the recurring-cost database, copied custom logos, and selected budget, category, currency, language, service-catalog, and theme preferences. Premium entitlement, app-lock and age settings, legal and analytics choices, unfinished drafts, notification state, background-work state, and SDK-managed analytics or diagnostics storage are excluded. Eligible cloud backup also requires encryption support on current Android versions; older Android versions that cannot provide client-side-encrypted backup receive no SubTrack Auto Backup data.

Import, export, and reports

SubTrack can import and export subscription data, and can generate spending report PDFs, when you choose to use those features.

• JSON and CSV exports are saved to a file location you select on your device.
• PDF spending reports are saved to a file location you select on your device.
• Imports read a JSON or CSV file you select and may replace existing local subscription data after validation and confirmation.
• You are responsible for where exported files and reports are stored, shared, or backed up.

Notifications

If you enable renewal reminders, SubTrack may schedule local notifications on your device. Notification permission is requested only when required by Android.

Reminder notifications are generated from your locally saved subscription data.

Custom logos and images

If you choose a custom logo, SubTrack uses Android's photo picker to let you select an image. The selected image is copied into SubTrack's private app storage so it remains available inside the app.

SubTrack does not upload custom logos. Removing a custom logo from a subscription attempts to delete the copied logo file from app storage.

Built-in service logos may be fetched from logos.hunter.io using the catalog service's domain in the request URL. The logo provider receives that requested domain and network information such as your IP address. These requests can occur when logos are displayed or included in a PDF report, independently of the optional analytics choice. They do not upload your custom logo or saved subscription database.

Google Play Billing

SubTrack may offer premium features through Google Play Billing. Purchases are processed by Google Play, not directly by SubTrack.

Google may process purchase-related information according to Google Play and Google Payments policies. SubTrack uses purchase status to manage Premium access and resume initiating work. With your optional analytics agreement, it also records coarse purchase-flow outcomes; Firebase may collect Google Play purchase events as described above.

Google Play Age Signals

Where required by law, SubTrack may request age and parental-approval signals from Google Play. Google Play provides these signals; SubTrack does not ask you to enter your age directly.

SubTrack stores only the minimum local compliance state needed to decide whether app access is allowed, including the Play install ID, the returned age-signal status, and the time the signal was checked. These signals are not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or marketing.

Crash reporting

Firebase-configured production builds use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and app-not-responding errors. Reports may include stack traces and exception messages, app and operating-system versions, device state, installation identifiers and session diagnostics. Firebase may attach Analytics breadcrumbs showing actions before a crash. We do not attach saved subscription records, OCR text, custom user IDs or free-text custom logs. Exception messages can contain runtime context, so crash reports are not anonymous or limited to the Analytics enum schema.

Usage analytics and crash diagnostics share the optional data-sharing choice described above. Crash reporting starts only after agreement in a configured production build. Firebase manages local report storage and automatic delivery, generally after restart and reconnection; SubTrack has no separate upload queue. Turning sharing off disables future collection, resets local Analytics data and requests deletion of unsent crash reports. It does not delete data already received by Google or recall an upload already in flight. Diagnostic data is used to improve app stability, not for advertising. See Firebase privacy information.

Third-party services

SubTrack uses Google Analytics for Firebase for coarse feature-use and Premium-funnel measurement, and Firebase Crashlytics for stability diagnostics. SubTrack does not use advertising SDKs, bank-linking services, or cloud sync services.

The app may use your internet connection for Google Play Billing, Google Play Age Signals, loading remote service logos when a remote logo URL is configured in the built-in catalog, checking for app updates through Google Play In-App Updates, downloading a small update-configuration file from the developer's website (GitHub Pages) to decide whether an update is offered, and opening external websites when you choose to open a saved cancellation link, a legal page such as this one, Google Play subscription management, or other web link.

The update-configuration check and update checks do not send your subscription data; they only retrieve version information so the app can prompt you to update. Those websites and services are controlled by their own providers and are subject to their own privacy policies.

Children's privacy

SubTrack is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated when SubTrack changes. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
